In 2004, the European Parliament passed Directive 2002/95/EC on the Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS), to protect human health and the environment by restricting the use of certain hazardous substances in new electrical or electronic equipment.
However, Monitoring and Control Instruments under Category 9 are excluded from the RoHS directive. International Test Technologies falls under Category 9 and is therefore outside the Directive's scope. Nevertheless, we regard the elimination of certain hazardous substances from our products as being very important for the environment, our customers and employees. Consequently we shall continue to move towards RoHS-compliant products.
To that end, we are investigating with our suppliers the procurement of RoHS-compatible components. Where possible, our engineering team will then modify our products to use RoHS-compliant components and manufacturing processes.
In addition, we shall endeavour to design any new products to fall within the Directive's requirements to the fullest possible extent, notwithstanding our Category 9 status.
